1. Event Dates

  • Event Date: CultureHack 2024 will take place on [insert date], and teams will have **7 hours** to complete their projects, including pitching.
  • Submission Deadline: All submissions must be completed and turned in by the end of the hackathon session.

2. Eligibility

  • Participants: Open to all KCL students, they must be a member of KCL Tech.
  • Teams: Each team will consist of 4 members. Each team will also be supervised by the CMCI student who proposed the project idea.

3. Team Composition

  • Teams are fixed, and participants may not switch teams or work on multiple projects.
  • The CMCI student who pitched the project will guide the team as a project supervisor but will not be involved in hands-on development.

4. Project Scope

  • Projects should address real-world challenges in the cultural and creative industries.
  • Solutions can include various forms of proof-of-concept, such as Figma designs, prototype apps, slide decks, or any other creative format that demonstrates the concept.
  • Teams should stick to the initial project idea provided by the CMCI student.

5. Submission Requirements

Teams must submit the following:

  • A digital proof of concept (Figma, app prototype, slide deck, etc.).
  • A pitch presentation (2-3 minutes), prepared for judges to review the concept, design, and impact.

All submissions are due by the end of the hackathon.

6. Pitch Presentation

  • Each team will present their project to the judges in a 2-3 minute pitch.
  • Teams should be ready to answer questions from the judges after their pitch.

7. Judging Criteria

Projects will be judged based on:

  • Creativity: Originality and uniqueness of the solution.
  • Feasibility: Realistic potential for further development.
  • Impact: Potential to positively influence or transform the cultural sector.
  • Presentation: Clarity, organization, and persuasiveness of the pitch.

8. Prizes

  • The winning team will receive 5 Amazon gift cards — one for each team member and one for the CMCI student who proposed the idea.
  • Selected teams may also be invited to participate in Enactus’s incubator program as “Wildcard Winners”, receiving guidance and resources to further develop their ideas.

9. Intellectual Property (IMPORTANT)

  • All work created during the hackathon will belong exclusively to the CMCI student who proposed the project idea.
  • KCL Enactus and KCL Tech may use images, video, and descriptions of projects for promotional purposes.

10. Code of Conduct

  • All participants are expected to uphold respect, integrity, and professionalism throughout the event.
  • Misconduct, including harassment or disruptive behavior, will result in immediate disqualification.
